Kameya Japan Tradition - Edo Kimekomi Doll - Maneki Neko

Note: This is a custom item with an estimated shipping time of 30 business days. Thank you for your understanding.

Maneki Neko, or "beckoning cat," is a traditional Japanese symbol of good fortune, prosperity, and protection. Often seen with one paw raised in a welcoming gesture, the Maneki Neko is believed to bring luck to its owner—whether in business, the home, or personal endeavors.

The right paw raised is thought to welcome wealth and good luck.

The Maneki Neko’s cheerful gesture and timeless symbolism make it a beloved gift and good-luck charm throughout Japan and beyond.

About the Craftsman: Hisao Arai is a traditional dollmaker from Iwatsuki, Saitama—known as Japan's “town of dolls.” Trained from childhood under his father, a respected artisan, Arai continues the legacy of Japanese kimekomi dollmaking with great care and sincerity.

Every piece bearing his name is personally designed, color-coordinated, and finished by Arai himself. His hope is that these handmade creations bring happiness, tradition, and lasting memories into the homes they enter.

Important Note: This product is handcrafted and one of a kind. Slight differences in color, shape, or pattern are natural results of the artisan process. We do not accept returns or refund requests due to the product not matching the product photo exactly. We kindly ask for your understanding before making a purchase.

Please note that each brocade fabric pattern is unique and may vary slightly from item to item, with some overlapping stitching. Additionally, while most products are crafted from wood, a blend of wood and polyethylene may be used in certain cases due to supply availability. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy the craftsmanship of each piece.
