Ryukakusan Throat Coat Powder for Relief of Sore Throat

Ryukakusan is a throat remedy made with herbal ingredients (such as Platycodon, Senega, Apricot Kernel, and Licorice) that actively promote the relief of coughing and phlegm.

The inner lining of the human trachea contains ciliated cells, which vibrate about 1,500 times per minute and secrete mucus from the walls of the trachea. Dust, dirt, bacteria, and other particles entering through the airways are trapped in this mucus and expelled from the body by the ciliary movement. This is the body’s natural cleansing process.

Overuse of the throat, smoking, inhaling polluted air, or other irritants can lead to throat inflammation, discomfort, and the accumulation of phlegm, weakening the body’s natural cleansing ability and causing persistent coughing. When this happens, Ryukakusan helps by increasing the secretion of mucus from the trachea, stimulating ciliary movement, clearing phlegm, calming the cough, and reducing inflammation.

Ideal for: Cough, phlegm, hoarseness caused by throat inflammation, throat irritation, discomfort, pain, and swelling.

Ryukakusan works directly on the mucous membranes of the throat to provide its effects.

It should be taken without water.

Use the provided spoon (1 scoop = 0.3g) to take the following doses:

Adults (15 years and older): 1 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Children 11–15 years: 2/3 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Children 8–11 years: 1/2 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Children 5–8 years: 1/3 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Children 3–5 years: 1/4 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Children 1–3 years: 1/5 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Children 3 months–1 year: 1/10 scoop, 3–6 times a day.

Do not use for children under 3 months.

Directions: 

• Open the bottle.

• Take a heaping spoonful.

• Place the powder on the tongue and let it slowly dissolve, allowing it to reach the throat.

Ingredients (per 1.8g dose for adults):

• Platycodon powder: 70mg

• Apricot Kernel powder: 5.0mg

• Senega: 3.0mg

• Licorice powder: 50mg

• Additives: Calcium carbonate, Calcium hydrogen phosphate, Magnesium carbonate, Benzoic acid, Flavoring

Precautions:

• Consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered seller if:

  1. You are currently undergoing medical treatment.

  2. You have a history of allergic reactions to medicines or substances.

  3. You have a high fever.

• If any of the following symptoms occur after taking this medicine, stop use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist:

  • Skin: Rash, redness, itching.

  • Digestive: Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite.

  • Nervous system: Dizziness.

• If symptoms do not improve after 5–6 days of use, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
