Mentaiko and tarako are Alaskan pollock, part of the cod family, and a very popular flavor of pasta sauce in Japan.
Mentaiko offers a slightly more spicy, seasoned taste with the addition of chili pepper, while tarako is its milder counterpart.
Simply heat in its pouch and mix into cooked and drained spaghetti. For extra flavor, sprinkle aonori seaweed strips on top (included in pack). Adding a tablespoon of pasta water over the sauce will help thicken the sauce for even better flavor.
