Santen Pharmaceutical Sante Antibacterial Eye Drops

Sante Antibacterial Eye Drops contain a sustained-action sulfonamide antibiotic (sulfamethoxazole) to fight bacterial infections. The drops include a thickening agent (hypromellose) to increase retention in the eye, enhancing antibacterial effectiveness. They also contain three additional ingredients that help relieve eye itchiness, inflammation, and support tissue metabolism. Useful for improving conjunctivitis and styes.

Ideal for: Red eyes, a gritty or burning sensation, discharge, swelling, pain, or pus on the edges or inner surface of the eyelids.

Precautions:

• Do not use if:

  • You are allergic to this product or its ingredients.

• Do not use long-term.

• Consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered seller before use if:

  1. You are under medical treatment.

  2. You or your family have a history of allergies.

  3. You have had allergic reactions to medications.

  4. You have severe eye pain.

• Stop use and consult a healthcare professional immediately if:

  • Rash, redness, itching, eye swelling, or other adverse reactions occur.

  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) occur, including hives, difficulty breathing, throat itching, voice changes, dizziness, or rapid heartbeat.

  • Symptoms do not improve after 3–4 days of use.
    

• Children should use under adult supervision.

• Do not touch the dropper to the eye, eyelid, or eyelashes to avoid contamination. Do not use cloudy solution.

• Remove soft contact lenses before use.

• For ophthalmic use only.

Storage:

• Store tightly closed in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Avoid high temperatures (e.g., inside cars or near heaters).

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not transfer to another container.

• Do not share with others.

• Do not use past the expiration date. Once opened, use promptly.

• White crystals may form around the dropper; wipe with a clean cloth before use.

Ingredients:

• Sulfamethoxazole (antibacterial): 4.0%

  • A sustained-action sulfonamide effective against bacteria causing conjunctivitis and styes.

• Chlorpheniramine maleate: 0.03%

  • Reduces histamine activity, relieving redness and itchiness.

• Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate: 0.25%

  • Suppresses inflammation.

• Taurine: 0.5%

  • Supports tissue metabolism in the eye.

• Excipients: sodium edetate, hypromellose, benzalkonium chloride, pH adjusters.

Note: After application, a bitter or sweet taste may be noticed in the mouth due to drainage through the tear ducts. This is normal and does not indicate a defect.

Dosage: Instill 1–2 drops per eye, 3–5 times daily.
