Yano Seichajo Unjo no Tsuru Matcha Powder
"Unjo no Tsuru" is made from high-quality, hand-picked Uji matcha tea leaves, processed using traditional techniques such as covering the tea with straw to enhance its aroma. The matcha has a unique fragrance, a key characteristic of Uji's traditional methods. While this matcha is intended for strong tea, you can enjoy it both thin and strong.
- For thin tea: Enjoy the refined depth and elegant bitterness with lingering aftertaste.
- For strong tea: The rich green color and smooth texture are complemented by a strong, exceptional umami and fragrance.
How to Prepare "Unjo no Tsuru" Matcha?
For thin tea (usucha), you can use this matcha without needing a tea whisk. Itâs easy to prepare with a bottle, perfect for casual or business settings.
Preparation (1 serving):
- Tools: You will need a matcha bowl (or a regular bowl if unavailable), a tea whisk (or use a bottle to stir), a tea scoop (or a teaspoon), a tea sieve (or a fine mesh), and a teacup for hot water.
-
Steps:
- Sift 1.5 scoops (about 1 teaspoon) of matcha through the sieve to avoid clumps.
- Pour 60 ml of hot water into the matcha bowl, then whisk until foamy.
- Whisk in an upward motion, starting gently and gradually building the foam.
For strong tea (koicha), use 3 scoops of matcha, sift it, and mix it with a small amount of hot water to create a smooth paste. Add more water and whisk gently in an "M" motion for a thick, creamy finish.
Tips: To create a nice foam, whisk in a rhythmic motion to ensure a smooth, airy surface. Adjust the water ratio carefully for thick tea to ensure it's not too dry.
